ABOUT SMILING EYES

Christine Kufske is the founder of Smiling Eyes a Division of Click Photography

Smiling Eyes is a non-profit, volunteer based organization of photographers from all over Ontario, who have come together to form a guild dedicated to people/families facing the fight with cancer.

This a fairly new organization which officially began in November of 2006 when founder Christine  Kufske felt a desire to provide some comfort to those battling Cancer.

Having watched her father battle kidney cancer,  a close friends child fight neuroblastoma and having a history of breast cancer in her family she was again personally touched when a neighbor began her own battle with breast cancer.

'I want to help', thought Kufske.

Believing that everyone has either time or talent that should be shared with people. Kufske wanted to do both and asked if her neighbor would like a complimentary photo shoot before she began chemo.

Her neighbor accepted and the gratitude overwhelmed Kufske which brought her to the realization that this small gift that comes so natural to Kufske offered so much in helping to make the journey a little less difficult.

So through word of mouth and a page on her website Smiling Eyes began to shine.

Why call it Smiling Eyes?  Kufske states that as a photographer she is consistantly focusing on the eyes. In the eyes she sees, love, joy and passion umoung many other emotions. No matter how cancer may change you, those true feelings are always seen in the eyes for your loved ones. Smiling Eyes just seemed appropriate!

Kufske had no idea that Smiling Eyes would grow so fast and called out to other professional photographers. Kufske asked those to join Kufske in donating 2 complimentary photoshoots a month, giving recipients a complimentary photo shoot as well as the high res. CD of all the images shot.

Photographers have come forward offering their services and have helped grow Smiling eyes from just 2 shoots a month to close to 12.

Other people/ businesses whom have been extremely gracious are,  Jim and Melanie with Images in Colour a local developer whom have offered to provide Click's photo shoots with the proofs free of charge.

Caroline with Blossom make up Design is working with a number of Photographers providing make up to those who wish to be pampered before the shoot.

Farhood Boehler and Associates has helped Smiling Eyes bring other Photographers on board to provide non profit services to recipients.

Kufske continues to be grateful for all Smiling Eyes contributors and is excited to watch Smiling Eyes grow as it continues to help people make the journey with cancer a little less difficult.
